About Us
Our Mission
We develop health promotion capacity to enhance community well-being, and advocate for policies and resources that promote health.
Our Vision
Health Nexus envisions a future in which health
inequities are reduced and the health of our communities is improved
through collective commitment, action and innovation.
Building capacity… We help individuals and organizations to implement health promotion strategies, based on the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. These strategies address the determinants of health and aim to enhance community well-being.
Connecting communities with resources…
We're your source for health-promotion related print and electronic resources, educational events and workshops. We also provide tailored consultations , deliver expert advice, and can provide referrals to more sources of information and support.
Forming partnerships…
With a proven track record in community and civic engagement, we draw together partners from different sectors, identify common interests and ensure advocacy for prevention. We are co-founders of the Ontario Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance (OCDPA) partner with the Health Equity Council and are one of five organizations making up Healthy Communities Consortium.
Advocating for change…
We are an advocate for healthy public policy as well as for the dedication of resources to and investment in health promotion to enhance well-being.
Offering services in both official languages…
As a provincially-designated French language services provider since 1996, Health Nexus is committed to providing effective services in both English and French.
