Services - Networking & referrals
We stay in close contact
with community activists, researchers, health promoters, government
colleagues, policy makers and educators working in the field of
health promotion - locally, nationally and internationally. Within
OPC we work closely with the Canadian
Health Network health promotion affiliate, the Prevent
Stroke program, the Best
Start Resource Centre and the OHPRS
secretariat. The diverse interests of our staff connect us to
many organizations and individuals and help us keep abreast of new
thinking and initiatives. Through these contacts, we can link you
to other organizations or individuals to foster new relationships
and partnerships within your field, and to learn from others' experiences.
We help communities learn how to use mobilization
strategies that draw upon their own assets to promote health and
well-being. We help new networks and partnerships get on their feet
by identifying methods to set goals, design activities and to ensure
strong collaboration and governance.
